Chelsea vs. Man Utd. Review
SO it's all over and it's the Blue taking the narrow win...
i don't really know where to start with this game but i guess the beginning is a start :P
Man utd starting with Evans and Brown at the back which is what i think explained the thick midfield of carrick, fletcher and anderson, to give them some more protection and to break up that immense midfield linkup of ballack, Essien, Lampard and deco
Things were very scrappy in the first half with a lot of midfield battles going on, both teams doign pretty well not allowing each other to get into a flow...
First talkable point would be Anderson sending Rooney through in acres of space but the linesman wrongly called the english forward offside...
It took an hour for the game to get spicey, the tackles were flying and the half chances started to come...but neither really creating anything that would make either keeper piss themselves, until Rooney had a curling shot nicely saved from Cech...
Drogba was then given a yellow card for a late challenge on Evans after evans won a straight forward header...replays showed that as drogba came in very late evans went with his studs up and caught drogba square in the chest (watch out you late tacklers, u might get the same treatment) :P
Seconds after fletcher was then called for a foul when wen he made a fair tackle on ashley Cole...A goal resulting from the freekick with a terry header..with drogba seeing to pull down wes brown inside the box...Chelsea 1 man utd 0...Evans and brown had been doing well to keep drogba quiet, and that incident from evans fueled the blues...
The main highlight from this game were the tackles and midfield battles, apart from that it wud hav been a bit dull...Rooney having a terrible game, he really doesnt like that lone role up front...
Man utd did see a lot of possession towards the end, but it seems fergie had made his changes a bit too late, as they couldn't salvage a point
0-0 would have been a fair score
your thought?
while we argue, fergie and ancelotti enjoy a bottle of wine :P

undeserved win for Chelsea
ReplyDeletekarma occured in a flash. evans stepped into drogba's chest and drogba got the yellow card. then evans again made another tackle and think it was on carvalho and then we got the freekick from the fletcher tackle which in my opinion was 50/50. so karma is a bitch. but still this is just about 1/3 of the season. so many matches to go. Chelsea 4ever.
ReplyDeleteBlog is spot on,but the Drogba Evans incident, that looked more 50-50 than anything. The Fletcher free kick, soft, but given more for the intent. Wes Brown was fouled still,Drogba should have just left him.He wasnt gonna influence proceedings. I didn't like the manor in which the game was decided still. However, I have little remorse as Fergie attempted to deny the fans a great game with his tactics which were likened to Bolton. Mourinho played a similar lone striker system, however this was done with a burly target man in the form of Drogba and a Frank lampard right behind him(along with many others with attacking flair).I believe he came to frustrate the football game and possibly tuck one in and defend.
ReplyDeleteThat offside call was a killer. If the linesman had got that right, we would have seen a goal and a different United team. United sorely missed Berbatov holding up the ball for Rooney and others to get forward, but i thought the midfiend did a good job holding Chelsea from playing their game, as did Brown and Evsns. I was worried they would be overrun today, but they did a great job, with Brown showing his class and experience. He was unlucky with the Chelsea goal, looked a foul to me but couldnt be sure from the replay. Anyone? Rooney worked hard as usual, but look isolated.
ReplyDeleteThe game got much more interesting towards the end, with tempers flaring and some cheeky off the ball moments, but as usual Fergie waited too long to make the changes. Obertan showing promise again, Nani must be worried...
Overall i thought United were unlucky to not get a point, but as u can all see im slightly bias...
Title decider? I think not, too early for that kind of talk, especially with Arsenal hitting top form with a game in hand, but Chelsea certainly looking strong, with this victory sure to inject more confidence into their game.
Jah kno... :(
INTER MILAN vs. ROMA onto the NEX SLOW ASS BLOKES. your still on the match that just finished. wicked!
ReplyDeleteboring, 50/50 match
ReplyDeleterooney being adjudged to have been offside was the wrong call, and possibly could have scored
whether or not evans was getting to the ball first matters not, studs should NEVER find a man chest, NEVER(u jus hate drogba)
wes brown was fouled, but would he really have prevented the header from going in? i cant say no or yes...so in fairness a guess a have to say it was a foul and ref should have called it
no other real talking points except a few cheeky little off the ball incidents which i found fuckin hilarious and random ass black guy who appeared to have been brushing his teeth in the stands
anyways as a chelsea fan i love the result, fair or not, and i def hope this will match will be the overturning of manchester united in the prem race
mi agree as a die hard arsenal fan 0-0 wouldve been perfect but we all felt like chelsea wouldve pulled it out. And i love the tackles and the madness as I mentioned to you rastaman it neva did remind you of the arsenal manu days when them used to beat up ruud and roy keane used to kick down henry every chance him get lolol. Good ole days. This was a good match, Im still not convinced of chelsea being the best amongst the top 4 jus yet. IMO its still up in the air right now, but my tune may change when them give my young gunnas a fine assen(arsen)
ReplyDeleteHAHA
ReplyDeleteit was a riveting game in its unique way i guess
my money is still on arseanl winning the league, if not them then chelsea
still early days tho
